NoVa refers to Northern Virginia which is the only part of the state that anyone cares exists.I’ve actually had people from the Richmond area tell me I couldn’t be from Virginia because people from Virginia don’t talk like me.

Most people I run into out here in California only seem to know people from NoVa. And it’s weird because when I meet someone who’s actually from NoVa, they seem to have never heard of anywhere lower than the Fredericksburg line. It’s like South Central VA doesn’t even exist.
