Let’s be honest, If Django had been played by Kerry Washington, or Gabrielle Union, or BeyoncĂ©, and pranced around in skimpy outfits no one would have said a thing about the “offensiveness” of the movie. You can do whatever you want with a female character because it plays into someone in the audience’s fantasy.
I’m still trying to get my webcomicking legs back under me, but I’m getting fired up for some side projects too.
My last jab at the whole Chick-Fil-A fiasco,and this from a local perspective.One day last week the local paper did a front page story on a local food bank that wasn’t able to help as many people as it used to because people don’t donate as much.They showed the empty shelves and freezer and talked about the need of the people who use the service.The next day hundreds of good Christian people missed work, and flooded the local mall to gorge themselves at a fast food restaurant.The paper printed that story as well and I had to sit through a lot of these people flooding Facebook and Twitter about how they supported those who needed it, and believed in doing the “Christian thing”.
I know so many of you are upset cause Jodie Foster’s kid broke The Cure’s lead singer’s heart so this one is for you.Cause I’m all up on this pop culture stuff.
HeroesCon in Charlotte is running a contest this year where advance ticket holders can spend all day Saturday as part of Stan Lee’s entourage at the convention.Sure the perks and prestige would be nice,but it might also get a little uncomfortable.
And I’m willing to bet the winner would auction that stuff on E-bay.
